Mattel and Clear Channel Entertainment Announce Acclaimed, Award-Winning Creative Team to Bring ``Barbie(TM) Live in Fairytopia!(TM)'' to Stages across North America in Spring 2006

Inspired by the highly successful March 2005 direct-to-video movie"Barbie(R) Fairytopia(TM)," the magical theatrical production willenchant family audiences with beautiful costumes, exquisite backdropsand special effects -- including awe-inspiring flying fairies. Anoriginal musical score will heighten the excitement and fantasy."Barbie(TM) Live in Fairytopia(TM)!" builds on the success ofBarbie(TM) Entertainment's six chart-topping Barbie(TM) films andcasts Barbie(TM) as Elina(TM) in a magical land of enchantingadventures. About the Production Team
ERIC SCHAEFFER (Director): Schaeffer recently directed the LosAngeles production of Disney's "Snow White" and the off-Broadwaymusical "Under the Bridge." On Broadway, his credits include "PuttingIt Together," "big" (First National Tour) and "Sweet Adeline," and hemade his West End debut with "The Witches of Eastwick." Eric served asthe artistic director for the Sondheim Celebration at The KennedyCenter where he directed "Passion" and "Sunday in the Park withGeorge." Regional credits include "Putting It Together" with CarolBurnett at the Mark Taper Forum, and his upcoming projects include"Mame" at the Kennedy Center. He is the co-founder and artisticdirector of Signature Theatre in Washington D.C. Eric has been awardedfour Helen Hayes Awards for Outstanding Direction along with 20 totalnominations. His musical productions have received six Helen HayesAwards for Outstanding Musical.
GREGG BARNES (Costume Designer): Tony-nominated costume designer,Barnes's Broadway credits include: "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (ImperialTheatre), a Tony nomination for "Flower Drum Song" (The VirginiaTheatre) and "Sideshow" (Richard Rodgers Theatre). Other New Yorkcredits include: The National Tour of "The Wizard of Oz" (MadisonSquare Garden), "Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus," "Radio CityMusic Hall Christmas Spectacular," "Cinderella," "The Merry Widow"(New York City Opera), "Cinderella in a Mirror," "Suds," "SweetRelease" (Alvin Ailey Dance Company) and "Dubarry Was a Lady." Histour credits include: the National Tour of "South Pacific," "Anastasiaon Ice," "Rugrats -- A Live Adventure," "Blue's Clues Live,""Scooby-Doo in Stagefright! -- Live On Stage" and "Dora The ExplorerLive." Barnes is the recipient of the Irene Shraff young Master Awardfor Design, and his upcoming projects include "The Drowsy Chaperone"(pre-Broadway, The Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles) and a revival of"Mame" (Kennedy Center).
JAMES KRONZER (Scenic Designer): Kronzer recently completed workfor Disney on a new musical called "Twice Charmed," now beingperformed on board the Disney Magic. His credits include: "Under theBridge" (Off-Broadway) and various regional theatres including theSignature Theatre, Folger Theatre, Arden Theatre, Wilma Theatre andPhiladelphia Theatre Co, Florida Stage, Asolo, Shakespeare Theatre,San Diego Rep, Milwaukee Rep, among others. He has also designed theNational Tours of "Seussical The Musical," "I Love You, You'rePerfect, Now Change" and "Showboat." Kronzer is the recipient of 7Helen Hayes Awards out of 23 nominations and a Barrymore Award. He isan Artistic Associate at Signature Theatre and Round House Theatre.
SUSAN DI LALLO (Bookwriter/Co-Lyricist): One of the "up and comingmusical theatre writers" according to Backstage Magazine, DiLallocaptured the 2003 Kleban Award given annually to "The Most PromisingLibrettist in American Musical Theatre" and a Richard Rodgers Award,presented by the American Academy of Arts & Letters to supportdevelopment of "Once Upon a Time in New Jersey" (winner, Global Searchfor New Musicals Competition, 2005). A major Chicago production isplanned for 2006. She also won the 2003 KIDDSTUFF New Play Competitionfor book and lyrics to an adaptation of "Pinocchio." Off-Broadwaycredits include "That's Life" (Outer Critics Circle nominee) and "ThisWeek in the Suburbs." She is currently writing the libretto to "IronCurtain," an original musical comedy that will be seen in New York inthe Spring.
ROBBIE ROTH (Composer/Co-Lyricist): Roth is a composer/lyricistfrom Toronto, Canada, whose recorded work has garnered internationalacclaim, both critically and commercially. Since the charting successof his first album, "Watershed," Robbie has had a number of trackslicensed for use in feature film and television and has lent hisproduction ear to a myriad of well-known and developing artists. Hehas scored a number of feature films, and his music has most recentlyappeared on a recording alongside Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Tom Waitsand Johnny Cash. He is currently co-writing and producing an album forTony-nominated Broadway performer Gavin Creel.
CHRIS LEE (Lighting Designer): Lee, previously nominated for twoHelen Hayes and two Barrymore awards, was a Joseph Papp Artist inResidence. His Broadway/West End credits include: "Linda Eder Live Atthe Gershwin" (Broadway) and "Shakespeare's R&J" (Tokyo & London).Off-Broadway credits include: "Saving Aimee!," "The Mistress Cycle,""Under The Bridge," "Boy," "Broadway Bares VI - XIV," "...in theabsence of spring...," "The Notebook," "Sarah Plain And Tall," "TheSummer Of The Swans," "Skyscraper," "Cloud Nine," "Linda Eder atCarnegie Hall" and "Urinetown." Other credits include: "Jesus ChristSuperstar" (European Tour), "Born To Sing" (National Tour), "TwiceCharmed" and "Remember The Magic" for Disney Creative Entertainment,the feature film "Camp" and a design associate with Imagination (USA)Ltd. Upcoming productions include: "Sarah Plain And Tall" and "SammyAnd Me."
CHRISTOPHER D'AMBOISE (Choreographer): d'Amboise has workedextensively as a choreographer, director and dancer. He beganperforming when he was six and became a principal dancer with the NewYork City Ballet at 20. While there he worked closely with GeorgeBalanchine and Jerome Robbins. For over 10 years he danced all of themajor roles before his transition to Broadway where he co-starred withBernadette Peters in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "SONG AND DANCE" (TonyAward nomination, Featured Actor in a Musical -- 1986). Hischoreography for the theater includes: "You Never Know," "HighSociety," "Romeo & Juliet: The Musical" and "My Fair Lady." He ispresently writing, directing and choreographing a new play with musicentitled "The Studio," to be produced in the 2005-2006 season. As aballet choreographer his reputation is worldwide. He has created morethan 80 works, which have been seen in over 20 countries. Televisioncredits include two appearances on the esteemed "Kennedy CenterHonors," where he performed most recently in honor of his father,legendary ballet performer and instructor Jacques d'Amboise, as wellas appearances on "Live from Studio 8H" and the Oscar and EmmyAward-winning documentary "He Makes Me Feel Like Dancing."
KAI HARADA (Sound Design): Harada attended Yale University for twoyears before leaving to pursue a career in theatrical sound design. Asassociate to sound designer Tony Meola, he has worked on such projectsas "A Christmas Carol," "The Sound of Music," "High Society,""Disney's Der Glockner von Notre Dame," "Kiss Me, Kate," "Sweet Smellof Success," "Wild Party," "Footloose," "Man of La Mancha" and"Wicked." He is the Production Sound Engineer for the "Wicked"National Tour and Chicago companies. Regional and Off-Broadway designcredits include "Norman's Ark," "Two Cities," "Heaven Help Us!," "TheDowntown Plays" as part of the Tribeca Theatre Festival and "Under theBridge."
